How to use it
- 1 Start typing. Press / to insert a heading, list, table, code block, image, equation or a live Workbook block.
- 2 Give a checkbox a scheduled date and an importance level, and it appears on your Kanban board, Task Calendar and Focus Board.
- 3 Select text to link it, either to a URL or to another page in your workspace.
- 4 Everything autosaves as you type, so there is no save button. Export to PDF when you need to send it on.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my notes stored?
In your browser, using IndexedDB. They stay on your machine and are never uploaded unless you choose to turn on cloud sync.
Do my notes work offline?
Yes. KontrolRoom is offline-first, so writing, editing and searching all work with no connection.
Can I add tasks to my notes?
Yes, and that is the point of them. Checkboxes can carry a scheduled date and an importance level, and every task you write is picked up by the Kanban board, Task Calendar and Focus Board. There is one underlying document, so you can edit it from wherever you are.
What else can I put in a note besides text?
Images, YouTube embeds, file attachments, tables, math equations and a live Workbook block for calculations right inside the page. You can also link a selection to another page in your workspace, not just a URL.
Do I need to sign up?
No. There is no account and no sign-in. Open it and start writing.
